Hat-trick for Rizvi Springfield

MUMBAI: Rizvi Springfield made it a hat-trick of titles after routing Anjuman Islam in the final of the Giles Shield Cricket Tournament at the Vengsarkar Academy grounds, Oval Maidan on Friday. The Bandra school proved to strong for their opponents on the final day as they were handed a mammoth defeat by an inning and 201 runs.

Adelaide: Australias full-time selector Greg Chappell has said that key players such as Shane Watson and Brett Lee would continue participating in the ongoing ODI series against England, at least until the team wraps up the series. Australia currently leads the seven-match series 3-1. We certainly want to keep them fresh, but we also want to keep building the winning feeling. Muttiah Muralitharan to retire from international cricket with Sri Lanka after World Cup

But Muralitharan, who has 800 Test wickets and 517 one-day wickets, will step aside completely after the conclusion of the World Cup, which begins next month. "I'm going to retire from international cricket, totally, after this World Cup," he told BBC Radio Five Live. Sri Lanka are co-hosts of the tournament with India and Bangladesh, providing the perfect arena for Muralitharan to bow out of the game. The Sri Lankans open their World Cup campaign against Canada, with Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Kenya making up Group A.
