The 29 year-old has come under fire after a lean Australian summer with the bat, with totals of 36, 10 and nine in the opening three matches of the seven-match series with England.
And although he is uncomfortable under the spotlight, he admits his performances could be better. Its part of the business I guess ... I wish you never had to face any scrutiny, he said. But unfortunately with our job it is part of what we do.
The most important thing for me is that were winning. Individual scrutiny comes and goes and right now Im copping a little bit of stick. When it comes to cricket, fair enough, because I havent been performing as well as Id like. Id like to lead from the front with the bat as well, Id like to make some runs.
World Cup fears soothed
A senior World Cup organising official has played down concerns about facilities being ready for next months tournament.
