Adelaide: Australias full-time selector Greg Chappell has said that key players such as Shane Watson and Brett Lee would continue participating in the ongoing ODI series against England, at least until the team wraps up the series. Australia currently leads the seven-match series 3-1. We certainly want to keep them fresh, but we also want to keep building the winning feeling. No doubt it would be good for the group to go into the World Cup with a very successful series behind us, the Age quoted Chappell, as saying. Muttiah Muralitharan to retire from international cricket with Sri Lanka after World Cup

But Muralitharan, who has 800 Test wickets and 517 one-day wickets, will step aside completely after the conclusion of the World Cup, which begins next month. "I'm going to retire from international cricket, totally, after this World Cup," he told BBC Radio Five Live. Sri Lanka are co-hosts of the tournament with India and Bangladesh, providing the perfect arena for Muralitharan to bow out of the game. The Sri Lankans open their World Cup campaign against Canada, with Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Kenya making up Group A.
